ROME - Italy has sent an aircraft with emergency humanitarian aid to Gaza after an urgent telephone request from the Palestinian President, Mr Yasser Arafat, the Italian foreign ministry said yesterday.
Mr Arafat requested the aid; during a telephone conversation, with the Foreign Minister, Mr Lamberto Dini, on Saturday, the statement said.
