Woman dies, man injured in two-car collision in Co Wexford

A woman in her 40s has been killed in a crash in Co Wexford.

The two-car collision occurred on the R772 at Scarawalsh at about 7.50am on Wednesday.

The woman, the driver of one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí said the driver of the second car, a man in his 70s, was taken to Wexford General Hospital where his condition was described as serious.

Nobody else was injured.

The road was closed to allow Garda investigators examine the scene and local diversions were put in place.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward, particularly anyone who may have camera footage.
