Nama pays out €115m in receiver fees over six-year period

The National Assets Management Agency (Nama) has paid out €115.4 million in receivers' fees since 2011, according to latest figures.

The single largest recipient was accountancy firm Grant Thornton which received fees between its Irish and UK services amounting to almost €17.3 million over the six-and-a-half year period.

Grant Thornton currently employs about 1,200 staff on the island of Ireland and recently announced the creation of a further 250 jobs.

KPMG and KPMG UK together received €13.4 million and Duff & Phelps, €10.2 million.

Fees to RSM Ireland and RSM UK Baker Tilly totalled €9.7 million.

PwC and PwC UK were paid combined fees of €8 million and professional services firm Mazars reaped €7.4 million.

The figures were released by Nama, but published under a parliamentary question response from Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe following a request for information from independent TD Mick Wallace.

There were a total of 76 payments, although some were to the same company with different entities, as in the case of those with Irish and UK operations. Overall, 27 were in the millions.
