Shoppers were evacuated from Arnotts in Dublin city centre on Saturday afternoon after a fire broke out in the men's department.

The blaze set off the sprinkler system and according to a statement from the retailer it was extinguished “within minutes”.

“There was no risk to customers or staff and the store will reopen as normal tomorrow morning,” it continued.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
