Cheer up, weather forecast is set to improve over next few days

It may be raining in many parts of the country right now, but the weekend is shaping up to be much brighter and drier.

Met Éireann are predicting that Friday will be dry, but with some outbreaks of rain and drizzle as clouds move across the country. However, this will clear on Saturday morning, leading to a good deal of dry weather with mixed sunshine. Highest temperatures for Saturday will be from 17 to 21 degrees, with the warmest weather in the south.

However, Met Éireann is also predicting that there may a few scattered showers across the country on Saturday.

Sunday is looking far better with the weather remaining mostly dry with temperatures ranging from 20 to 22 degrees.

Week’s weather

Wednesday will see dull and cloudy weather with outbreaks of rain and drizzle continuing on for the rest of the day across much of Ulster and Leinster. Munster and Connacht will be much brighter and dryer with some sunny spells.

Thursday will be dry in most of the country except for the north where light rain and drizzle are expected. Munster will experience the best weather as some breaks in the clouds are expected to allow a little sunshine come through over the course of the day.

The better weather conditions will be good news for a number of sporting events taking place around the country this weekend.

The Ulster Grand Prix is taking place all this week with a number of the biggest races scheduled to take place on the Saturday, including superbike races and national ultra lightweight/lightweight races.

Croke Park on Friday sees the concluding eight games for the World GAA Games and, on Saturday, Kilkenny and Waterford will be replaying the All-Ireland hurling semi-final in Semple Stadium in Thurles, before the second semi-final – between Tipperary and Galway – the following day in Croke Park – all of which should benefit from good weather conditions.
