Occupancy levels rose 4.8 per cent year-on-year despite fears about the impact the war in Iraq would have on business. Room rates were also 9.7 per cent higher.

The Six Nations Grand Slam decider against England and an earlier game in the same competition against France, also in Landsdowne Rd are thought to have boosted tourist numbers in the first quarter.
