Ryanair is to be granted a terminal at Dublin Airport in a Government attempt to rescue the flagging tourism and airline industries in the Republic, reports have claimed.

However, Government officials have refused to confirm the validity of the report.

According to the Irish Independentnewspaper, the Government will ratify the deal later today.

A spokesman for the Department of Public Enterprise told ireland.comthis morning he was not aware of any such proposal coming before cabinet today.

Ryanair have previously promised to attract one million passengers to Ireland over the next few years.

There was no immediate comment from Ryanair in response to the reports.
