The Irish Glaucoma Association, the first dedicated organisation for the an estimated 25,000 glaucoma sufferers, in Ireland, was launched in Dublin yesterday. The new association will be chaired by Mr Colm O'Brien, consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Dublin's Mater Hospital. Mr O'Brien said the association would be committed to reducing "the needless suffering this blindness causes".
