CONSTITUENCY OFFICE:GARDAÍ ARE investigating the breaking of windows and spraying of graffiti on the constituency office of Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey early yesterday.

A description of the culprit has been released as the incident was captured on CCTV.

The word “Tratiors” [sic] was sprayed in large red letters on the front of the building while three stones that appear to have been used to damage three of the five panes of glass have been recovered.

A spokeswoman for the Minister said: “This is a local office for local people and we will continue to serve local people undeterred.”

She added that what happened “was an attack on the decent local people who have loyally supported Minister Dempsey over the years. The gardaí are investigating this act of mindless vandalism.”

Garda technical experts examined the building, on High Street, Trim, yesterday morning and a Garda spokesman confirmed that they believed the attack was carried out by a lone male at about 3.24am.

He was wearing a dark jacket, jeans and white trainers. A Garda spokesman appealed for anyone with any information to contact them at 046-9431222.
