Full services on the Luas Red Line have resumed after they were disrupted this morning after a truck broke down near the Smithfield stop.

For approximately 40 minutes until 10:30am trams from Tallaght were stopping at Smithfield during this period. There was not service from Smithfield to the O2 arena stop in the Docklands

Dervla Brophy, a spokeswoman for Transdev which operates the Luas, said a

40 foot lorry broke down at the Abbey/Marlborough Street junction and was stuck four around 40 minutes.

She added that passenger tickets were valid for Dublin Bus during this period, as is normal when there is a service disruption.
