FIANNA Fail has condemned a Fine Gael advertisement in yesterday's Sunday Tribune which hailed the presentation to the Taoiseach, Mr Bruton, of the European of the Year award.
The party's European affairs spokesman, Mr Noel Davern, said yesterday this was "the most blatant abuse of an honorary award for party political purposes" that he had ever witnessed. The award was given by the Irish Council of the European Movement, and has been given to Taoisigh in the past.
