Figures released today by Eurostat shows the average income of Irish farmers increased by over double the EU average in 2001.
Average income increased by 7.3 per cent in Ireland this year, which is well over the increase of 2.7 per cent in the EU as a whole. Ireland’s performance was the fourth best in the EU.
Eurostat, the statistical body of the European Union, estimated the change in farm income per full-time worker equivalent, adjusted for inflation, in each member state and in the EU as a whole.
