The father of an Irish citizen thought to have been killed in last Thursday's bombings in London yesterday criticised the slow pace of identification of victims.
Sean Cassidy said police had not contacted him until a liaison officer visited their home on Sunday to gather details for identification purposes. His 22-year-old son, Ciaran, has been missing since he left his home at Finsbury Park to take the train to work in central London last Thursday morning. His family have said they have given up hope of finding him alive.
Mr Cassidy, who is originally from Cavan, said the family was getting all its information from the television news.
"All the other families are in the same position, I think it really is a ridiculous situation. After four days we should be able to be told something or other," he said.
Marie Fatayi-William, whose son, Anthony, is thought to have been on the bus which blew up, said: "This is now the fifth day, five days on, five days on, and we are waiting to know what happened to him."
