More than 2,000 ESB customers wake up to no power

Bad weather conditions caused the power outage in Cork

More than 2,000 ESB customers woke up to no power in Co Cork this morning.

The utility company apologised for the loss of supply to houses in Kilmoney, Carrigaline and are working to repair the fault.

A total of 2,021 homes were affected with the power outage began at 5.12am.

ESB estimates the power should be returned by 2pm today. A spokesman said bad weather was the reason behind the electrical fault.

“We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible,” it said.
