Grab your umbrella as Met Éireann issues rain warning

After days of being battered by the wind, it is time to grab your umbrella as Met Éireann issue another weather warning.

November ended leaving an impression as Storm Clodagh left thousands of homes without power over last weekend.

Temperatures have been warmer for the first two day of December however, a yellow alert for rain has been issued on Wednesday.

The lowest level warning is prompting people in Co Carlow, Co Kilkenny, Co Wexford, Co Wicklow, east Cork and south Tipperary to take preventative action against the predicted rainfall of up to 35mm.

The alert is to stay in place until Thursday at 9pm.

Temperatures on Wednesday night are expect to drop between 0 to 6 degrees and frost will develop in the northern half of the country overnight.

Rain will start in the south during the night and spread through Munster and Leinster overnight.

The highest temperatures on Thursday will reach 5-10 degrees, rain will be heavy in Munster and Leinster while much of Connacht and Ulster will remain dry.

The weather is looking better for Friday as it is set to stay dry but strong and gusty winds will return.

During the night the rain will return and the winds will get stronger.

The weekend will continue to be wet and windy with some sunny spells on Sunday evening.
