The home of a couple in their80s was targeted in a bomb attack blamed on dissident republicans.
John Devine, aged 82, told BBC radio he believed the bombershad targeted the home he shares with his wife Eileen inStrabane because heis a member of a local police liason committee.
"This is an horrific attack on the home of an elderlycouple," said Superintendent Clifford Best. "Up until recentlythe room that was at the centre of this attack was used as abedroom by one of the couple."
Police said the overnight blast had caused substantialdamage to a downstairs room of the house. No-one was injured.
It follows a series of attacks and threats in recent monthsagainst Catholic members of new policing boards designed to makethe mostly-Protestant police force more widely accepted.
