I use the internet to look for places of entertainment, places to go at the weekend - several nightclubs have websites, the POD and the Red Box, for example.
I am also attracted by the idea of internet banking - haven't actually got around to setting it up yet, but I will.
At the office I use it to get architectural information: there are databases on architectural details and it is also useful for getting information on construction products. Booking airline flights is handy too, but, otherwise, I just don't like it. I find it too slow.
For me it is just a tool for sourcing information, a library on the desk. Perhaps if I worked in a slacker job I'd be more interested. I notice that people from abroad get on the internet at lunchtime to find out what is going on at home.
If I lived abroad I'd probably do the same - log on to ireland.com to keep up.
