TWO-DAY strike by 80 marketing students in Limerick RTC, in protest at the college's failure to provide tutorials for their course, ended last week when the college made commitments to introduce tutorials by this week.
The students, who are in the first year of their course, had been without tutorials for 81 days. They were also concerned at the high number of students in the class.
Liz Twomey, president of Limerick RTC students' union, said students faced a "drastically high failure rate" if the tutorial issue was not resolved. College management gave a commitment last week that tutorials would now be introduced and that students would be given extra tutorials to compensate for those already missed.
