Teachers are expected to turn out in force for a TUI conference on Bullying in the Workplace in Dublin next week. The event is organised following a recent survey by the TUI and TCD's Anti-Bullying Centre, which found that one in five TUI members had been bullied at some time during the past year.

This will be the inaugural conference organised by the union's Professional Development Programme. It will set out to look at reasons for and types of bullying and suggest ways of dealing with both the problem and its effects.
