A man in his late 50s with an address in Cork was being questioned by Wexford gardai last night following the seizure of 1,000 ecstasy tablets at Rosslare. The seizure was made by the Customs national drugs team which intercepted the man as he was getting off the Fishguard/Rosslare ferry yesterday evening.

A spokesman said the operation was based on Customs intelligence. He said the authorities had been aware he had flown to London in December. The tablets are estimated to be worth £25,000.
