Neufchateau - Marc Dutroux, the man at the centre of Belgium's macabre child sex scandal, went on trial on lesser charges yesterday, saying he was not a dangerous man. The alleged child murderer faces a maximum 10 years in jail if found guilty of assaulting a police officer and stealing a revolver when he made a brief escape from custody two years ago.
