Vocational teachers in Co Kildare will not be paid their salary for June this week because of a strike by clerical and administrative staff in the local VEC. Participants in community employment schemes in the county may not receive their weekly wages if the dispute, which began last Friday, is not resolved shortly.
The dispute is over staffing levels at the VEC and follows a similar dispute at Wicklow VEC last month.
