Eircom league round-upRepublic of Ireland and Bohemians striker Glen Crowe is in danger of missing the upcoming Euro 2004 qualifiers against Albania and Georgia after limping off injured during a league clash with St Patrick's Athletic.

Crowe, who has won two full international caps, was named in Brian Kerr's 23-man squad during the week for the matches on June 7th and 11th. The Republic of Ireland manager was in the stands at Richmond Park and will have seen Crowe limp off with a suspected knee injury midway through the first half.

Last season's leading eircom League scorer was about to unleash a shot on goal but went down heavily under a last ditch El Khaeir tackle and was immediately withdrawn. It is feared the injury could be the same as that which kept Crowe out of action for the second half of last season.

Bohemians, meanwhile, failed to dent St Pat's unbeaten home record as Eamonn Collins' side ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a Jimmy Jones strike on nine minutes.

Bohs had an opportunity to level midway through the half only for Feargal Harkin to send the ball wide and despite Bohs' industry in the second period, the stubborn St Patrick's Athletic defence held firm to deliver three points.

Elsewhere, table-toppers Shelbourne stretched their lead at the top of the Premier Division despite being reduced to ten men in the first half.

Shels went in front against Shamrock Rovers in the 42nd minute when veteran striker Stephen Geoghan pounced on a slack piece of defending in the Rovers rearguard, picking up the loose ball and slotting it into the corner past the advancing Barry Ryan.

However, Shels were reduced to 10 men just two minutes later when leading goalscorer Jason Byrne appeared to aim a head-butt at Richie Byrne, leaving the referee with no option but to brandish the red card.

There was still time for Shelbourne manager Pat Fenlon to be sent to the stands leaving the fans a chance to draw breath at the interval.

The second half proved just as helter-skelter with both sides exchanging chances but failing to register on the scoreboard.

Shelbourne now enjoy a five point lead over Waterford United who are joined on 14 points by St Pat's. Rovers drop into third spot while Bohs stay fifth.
