Three people were arrested last night after an armed robbery in west Dublin.

The raid took place at a filling station on Clonsilla Road at 9pm when a car driven by a woman pulled up in the forecourt. Two men wearing balaclavas and armed with a knife and a handgun got out of the car. They entered and threatened staff before stealing cash.

As the men left, they were intercepted by gardaí on patrol in the area. All three were arrested and a firearm, knife and cash were recovered. One of the men was in his late teens and the other was in his twenties. The woman was in her forties.

They were taken to Blanchardstown Garda station and detained under Section 30 of the Offences against
the State Act 1939.
