Shotgun injury sustained in Ballyfermot, Dublin, but condition not life-threatening

A man has been brought to hospital after being shot in the leg.

The 19-year-old sustained the shotgun wound shortly after 10pm on Thursday at Le Fanu Drive, Ballyfermot in Dublin.

He was treated at the scene by emergency services before being taken to St James’s Hospital. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

Scene sealed

Gardaí were alerted and have sealed off the scene of the shooting for technical examination.

Nobody has been arrested and it remains unclear what led to the incident.
