Arrests made near European People’s Party congress

Three people detained after scuffles outside the Convention Centre in Dublin tonight

Three people have been arrested near Dublin’s Convention Centre tonight as the European People’s Party congress continues.

It is understood the arrests were made after fighting broke out between two separate groups of people.

The three individuals were brought to Store Street garda station where they were charged with various public order offences.

There were also some clashes between gardaí and protestors at barricades near the centre.

Gardaí have reported minor injuries to a number of its members policing activity in the area but they have remained on duty.
