Gardaí in Kildare are investigating the first reported use of a forged euro note in the country.
The note, a €10 coloured photocopy of an original, was passed off in a supermarket in Straffan yesterday evening.
A garda spokesman said the poor quality counterfeit is slighter smaller than the real note with a different texture.
