NEW DELHI - India's Congress Party said yesterday it would not move immediately to topple the United Front government it has reluctantly supported for nine months.

"It won't fall this year," the Congress spokesman, Mr Vithal Gadgil, said when asked if the government of the Prime Minister, Mr H.D. Deve Gowda, might fall during the three month budget session of parliament which opens today.
