Kuala Lumpur - Cambodia is making a last-ditch effort to join ASEAN on the eve of the regional group's induction of Laos and Burma, but officials say the bid is unlikely to succeed.
Despite saying publicly that it could do without joining the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), Cambodia has requested it be included with Burma and Laos. Its entry was postponed indefinitely after a coup by Second Prime Minister Hun Sen earlier this month. - (Reuter)
