The Government should show "leadership and sound judgment" in banning cigarette advertising and sponsorship, an anti-tobacco lobby group has said.
ASH Ireland expressed concern at the findings of research conducted throughout the European Union and published in the medical journal, the Lancet, which suggested that tobacco advertisements placed in women's magazines were effective in imparting positive images of smoking.
