A bus carrying Moldovan tourists has crashed in northeastern Italy, killing at least six people and injuring 38 others.

A bus carrying Moldovan tourists has crashed in northeastern Italy, killing at least six people and injuring 38 others.

Police said a child was among those killed in the early morning crash outside the city of Vicenza. Three of those injured are in serious conditions.

Some 65 people were on board the German-owned bus at the time of the crash.

They were mostly families headed to Venice on a daytrip, the ANSA news agency reported.

The bus lost control and smashed into a guard rail at the entrance of a tunnel outside Vicenza.
