The pair I've chosen make as handsome a couple, I promise you, as any bride and groom. Jurassique Chardonnay 1996, left, (Oddbins, £6.49) from Jean-Marc Brocard, one of Burgundy's brightest stars, delivers a classic white at an outstanding price. (You won't necessarily have to buy it yourself, incidentally, as Oddbins is about to start supplying Irish restaurants and caterers.) Raimat Abadia 1994, right, (outlets above, usually £7.99-£8.99), a blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Tempranillo, is great alternative to more run-of-the-mill reds, with oodles of interest and charm.
