Harare - Voters have turned out in large numbers in a two-day by-election to fill the seat left vacant by the death of controversial war veterans' leader Chenjerai Hunzvi, state radio in Zimbabwe reported yesterday.

The two-day election has pitted Bernard Makokove of the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) against the main opposition Movement for Democratic Change's (MDC) Oswald Ndanga.
