The Naval Service has detained a Belgian fishing vessel in the Irish Sea for alleged fishery offences

The Naval Service has detained a Belgian fishing vessel in the Irish Sea for alleged fishery offences. The Shannon was apprehended by the LE Deirdre 19 miles east of Wicklow Head, and was escorted yesterday into Rosslare, Co Wexford.

It is the 25th fishery detention to date this year by the Naval Service.
