The Office of Public Works has been presented with a Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) conservation silver medal for work carded out, at Government Buildings.

The RIAI says the medal is one of the highest honours and Is awarded triennially "to projects of exceptional merits . . . where architectural scholar- ship and research are major contributions to the quality of the project". The medal was award or the period 1987-1992.

Other architectural practices which received awards were Murray O'Laoire, for conservation work carried out In the Milk Market in Limerick, and Richard Harley Associate, for work on the Horn Chapel at University College Cork.
