Gardai are tonight investigating an armed raid on a building society in Co Kildare.
Four men wearing balaclavas entered the building in Athy late this afternoon. One is understood to have been armed with a rifle.
The men made their getaway a short time later in a blue Audi with an undisclosed sum of money. The car was later found abandoned in the town. The scene and the vehicle have been preserved for technical examination.
