The US State Department had agreed to grant the Sinn Fein leader, Mr Gerry Adams, a US visa but officials said yesterday that Mr Adams had decided not to visit the US, according to the AFP news agency. 'We gave the visa and were subsequently made to understand that he would not be coming,' a State Department official said. Mr Adams requested the visa last month.
