A young boy with cerebral palsy has secured €3

A young boy with cerebral palsy has secured €3.4 million in settlement of a High Court action brought over injuries allegedly suffered as a result of alleged negligence in the circumstances of his birth at the Coombe hospital in Dublin.

The hospital had denied negligence but made the €3.4 million settlement offer.

Alex Kelly had taken the action against the hospital through his mother Nicola Kelly, Cole Park Drive, Ballyfermot, Dublin, arising from the circumstances of his birth there on April 6th, 2004.

It was claimed Alex developed a syndrome of cerebral palsy.
