The inside track on New York Restaurant Week so you don’t miss the real deals

The best of the 300 restaurants book out fast

It can take a lot less than a New York minute to spend $25 eating out in the Big Apple so a date for the diary if you’re planing a trip is July 8th. This is when reservations open for New York Restaurant Week.

Three hundred restaurants do a three-course lunch for $25 (€19) and a three-course dinners for $38 (€29). This doesn’t include tip (typically 15 per cent) and local taxes which will bring those prices up to around $31 (€23) for lunch and $47 for dinner (€36).

The city throws restaurant week twice a year, in winter and summer. This year’s summer event takes place from July 22nd to August 16th, Monday to Friday, with some restaurants doing Sundays. The tables can be booked from July 8th when online reservations open and the pick of the list gets booked out.

They won’t reveal who’s taking part this year until reservations open but its always a chance to try seriously swanky places.
