Richard Lewis produced a really good collection this season, which was shown in the RHA to his usual band of devoted followers.

His mission statement was to say no to plunging necklines, thigh-high splits, bare legs and fake tan. Discreet elegance was the guiding principle in this small but focused collection of narrow judo-style black jackets, flattering flared tunics, and cobweb-beaded coats, all in his signature black matt jersey or black satin crepe. Simplicity was the keynote, whether in a charcoal belted dress for daywear or a slinky black skirt with a white shirt and red fan belt for evening. Prices start at €390 for tops, €790 for dresses and €690 for jackets. Richard Lewis, 22 South Frederick Street, Dublin 2, 01-6797016.
