A HOUSE in need of complete modernisation in Sandymount, Dublin 4, has sold for €510,000 at auction – more than a third over its AMV of €375,000.
The auction, only the seventh in Dublin this year according to estate agent Nigel Bennett of Bennetts, “was just like old times”. There were 40 people and two strong bidders at the auction which “took less than two minutes” from start to finish, he said.
Over 300 people had viewed 25 Bath Avenue, a Victorian property without original features such as fireplaces, and 15 requested conditions of sale. It was an executor sale.
It is understood that the buyer was a person who had sold a property in the area at the peak of the property boom.
Meanwhile Douglas Newman Good withdrew 153 Tritonville Road, Sandymount, at auction last week. It is now on the market for €850,000.
