Two apartments in a Ballsbridge scheme offer secure homes that you can lock up and leave.
Lansdowne Wood is a gated development of about 50 apartments built by O’Malley Homes in 2008.
It's well suited to overseas buyers looking for a base in Dublin with a view to returning here to live some time, says agent Ger Ruane of Sherry FitzGerald, who is bringing the two apartments in the same block to market.

Designed by McCrossan O Rourke Manning Architects, the properties are close to a range of great bars and restaurants in both Ballsbridge and nearby Googletown.
Several good schools are within walking distance and the city centre is about 20 minutes away on foot.
Number 51 is a fourth-floor, three-bedroom property with a large reception hall that leads through double doors to a big, open-plan kitchen-dining-living room.
The ivory gloss kitchen has a walnut-framed island with a Siemens gas-on-glass five-ring hob and sleek extractor.
There is a Neff fridge freezer and Siemens washer/drier, oven, microwave and dishwasher.
The room has French windows that open from both the dining and living areas out to a large south-east facing balcony. From here there are views to the Dublin Mountains and the landscaped surrounds.
Travertine bathrooms
Of the property’s three bedrooms, two have en suite shower rooms with travertine-tiled floors and walls. All have built-in wardrobes.
The main bedroom has a west-facing balcony from which to watch the sun go down. Both balconies have hardwood decking and glass balustrades.
The €1.25 million property measures 153sq m (1,646sq ft), has a BER of B3 and an annual service charge of €3,300 (the apartment is managed by Bohan Hyland).
Close by, number 30 is a two-bedroom ground-floor apartment in the same block.
Measuring 85sq m (991sq ft), the home has a west-facing patio off its open-plan kitchen- living-dining room, a C1 BER rating and is selling for €605,000. Its annual management charge is €2,600.
Each property comes with one secure car space in an underground carpark that is accessible directly from the property.
High rent
Both of these apartments have been rented out and would respectively generate between €2,000 and €2,200 and €3,000 to €3,200 per calendar month according to Sherry FitzGerald Lettings.
