Lie back and think of summer 2019

Home front: garden lounges, eggy spoons and a sassy apron

Effortless party space

Will Ireland have another sun-drenched summer in 2019? We can always dream about long sunny days and creating a Mediterranean terrace in our own back yard. A new range of outdoor furniture from Roche Bobois would transform a plain patio into a glamorous open air livingroom and effortless party space for balmy nights with negronis on tap. This is the classic Mah Jong range for sectional seating, first designed in the 1970s and regularly updated over the years in a wide range of fabric colours and designs. It's now available in an outdoor version, clad in durable fabrics from Missoni Home, but the dream doesn't come cheap: prices for a one seat unit start at €3,680 while a lounger costs from €5,380, Trays can be on the sides and behind the seat cushions to hold essentials such as sunglasses, towels and drinks. The new collection is available to order from the Roche Bobois showroom in Beacon South Quarter, Sandyford in Co Dublin. Contact: 01 - 653 1650.

Flexible teaspoons

Easter decorations are everywhere but, in general, it’s a sea of pastel coloured bunnies blossoms and eggs. If you like something sharper, these Mini Supoons from Dreamfarm are super handy teaspoons with flat squeegee tip and flexible scraping sides so real breakfast eggs can be fully enjoyed. When you put it down its head sits up so it’s good for serving dips and tapas too. Made of nylon and silicone it’s available from Designist at about €7.50.
