Hebrard Bordeaux 2014

Molloys Liquor Stores start a French Wine Sale today. I was very taken by their Hébrard Bordeaux Rouge. You can certainly find cheaper red Bordeaux, but this had a very nice intensity of blackcurrant and dark cherry fruits, and a fine backbone of dry tannins. This would go perfectly with a roast of lamb or beef.

Eco Viognier 2015, Chile

Customers of Searsons in Monkstown, Co. Dublin had the opportunity to taste their way through a huge range of their wines earlier this week at the Marker Hotel. Included in their number was this very tasty refreshing Viognier from Chile; light and brimming with citrus and peachy fruits, this is a well-made well-priced wine.
