Fatboy Slim is probably the artist most closely associated with Brighton’s Skint label, but he wasn’t the only horse in the stable.

Initially launched as the Loaded label’s subsidiary, Skint commercially out-shone its parent by loyally chronicling the big beat scene of the mid-1990s, though the contributions on that from on this compilation from FC Kahuna, Indian Ropeman and Lo-Fidelity Allstars show that movement was very much of its time.

Aside from the presence of Norman Cook's most successful alter-ago, Skint also benefited by releasing fine house music from X-Press 2 (especially their collaboration with David Byrne on Lazy), Tiga and others.

This 20th anniversary set pulls together the classics from the label’s heyday as well as more recent releases from acts such as Sonny Wharon, Roman Flugel and Tim Deluxe.
