Artist: Sunken Foal
Genre: Electronic
Label: Self-released

Dunk Murphy (Christian name possibly adopted?) is very much a stalwart of the Irish indie electronic scene. And while there's something of the always a bridesmaid/never a bride about his work (not at all justified, by the way), there is also a sense that it resonates more than most – and will, therefore, stick in the mind longer. Volume 1 of Murphy's Friday night electronic discourses was released in 2012, and the sequel (out last month but slightly lost in the Christmas crush) adheres to the format: a mix of fully formed and capsule-size tracks, which run the range of beautiful ambient melodies (Beef to the Heel), rather luxuriant (Cutty's Advice) and jittery robo-pop (It's Grafton Street). Something for the weekend, sir/madam? countersunk.bandcamp.com Download: Beef to the Heel, It's Grafton Street
