Punchestown music festival 2024: daily line-ups, ticket availability, weather forecast and more

Detroit house legend MK and Dublin electronic duo Belters Only are set to headline a two-day music festival at Punchestown Racecourse on Saturday and Sunday, June 1st and 2nd.

Saturday will see MK joined by special guests Dom Dolla, while Sunday will have Belters Only alongside long-time collaborator Jazzy.

MK – aka Marc Kinchen – is one of the most idolised figures from the world of dance music, known for his remixes of Push the Feeling On by Nightcrawlers and Look Right Through by Storm Queen, alongside his platinum selling hits 17 and Piece of Me. MK has worked with Calvin Harris, Will Smith, Mark Ronson and Ed Sheeran, to name a few.

Belters Only, meanwhile, began as a weekly residency in a Dublin city club for long-time friends Bissett and Robbie G. While clubs closed during the pandemic the duo worked together to create new music and develop a name for themselves as Belters Only.

They released their debut single on Polydor, Make Me Feel Good, in collaboration with Jazzy, in November 2021. The track, three years in the making, went on to become an instant club smash, racking up more than 86 million streams to date and reached the top 10 of the official UK singles chart. Belters Only capped off a huge 2023 with their biggest Irish show to date, at 3Arena in Dublin, which they dold out in half an hour Belters Only also sold out the 3Arena last October.

Here is what you need to know if you’re attending

When and where is it on?

Punchestown ‘24 takes place at Punchestown Racecourse in Co Kildare this weekend, on Saturday, June 1st and Sunday, June 2nd.

What time should I arrive?

The car park opens at 4.30pm, with gates following at 5pm before the show starts at 6pm. Last entry to the festival is at 10pm.

No queuing is allowed before the gates open.

How do I get there?

Festivalgoers are advised to allow sufficient time to travel to the event and pass through security checks, and to plan and book return travel arrangements in advance, allowing at least an extra two hours’ travel time to and from the venue.

As traffic and parking delays are inevitable, you are encouraged to use coach and shuttle services available. Promoters do not operate transport to/from the venue so attendees must arrange this in advance.

By bus: Bus Éireann is running return services from Dublin city centre and Naas across the weekend. For booking visit their website.

Private coaches should follow the event signage to the bus parks where there will be options to park or drop-off within the site – no advance booking required.

By car or taxi: car parking and car/taxi drop-off points will be available within the site – no advance booking is required.

The promoters ask attendees not to park illegally or at any nearby off-site location as there is no pedestrian access to the site. Towing will be in operation.

Car parks will open at 4.30pm each day and close immediately after each show. All vehicles must vacate the site each night. There is strictly no overnight camping permitted and towing will be in operation.

There are two entry points to the site – the Blue route is for buses only and the Orange route is for cars (including taxis) only. Each route will have parking or drop-off options available. Do not attempt to drop off outside the venue or on nearby roads, as this is dangerous due to a lack of footpaths.

There is only one entrance point to the event arena, and it is about 300 metres from bus/car parks and drop-off points.

What’s the story with security?

No camping/collapsible chairs or stools are allowed on site, and strict security checks will be under operation. Everyone will be subject to a search permissible under law, per purchase policy as a condition of entry, but additional searches may take place once inside the venue.

There will be no storage facilities on site and people are especially advised not to bring large bags or backpacks as they may experience delays or be refused entry.

Bags larger than A4, glass or cans, umbrellas, alcohol, garden furniture, selfie sticks, flares, professional cameras and audio-recording equipment, among other things, are also not permitted.

There are no same-day readmissions to the concert. Weekend ticket-holders will receive a wristband to return for the Sunday event but may only enter once a day.

Tickets are non-transferable so weekend tickets cannot be used by different people on different days and the events are strictly over-16s only. Promotors have said that strict age monitoring will be in place, and any under-16s will be refused entry without a refund.

Punchestown is a residential area so concertgoers are urged to respect the local community by not littering, not engaging in antisocial behaviour and not parking illegally.

What’s the weather going to be like?

Thankfully, at the time of writing, no rain is forecast in Punchestown on Saturday or Sunday. Temperatures for Saturday are predicted to be between 11 and 17 degrees during the day with some sun, while on Sunday, although weather conditions are expected to be cloudier than Saturday, predicted temperatures are between 13 and 17 degrees.

However, Punchestown ‘24 is a standing-only venue and all gigs take place outdoors on grass. Check the forecast and dress accordingly for Irish weather – think wellies, boots or runners, layers, raincoats/ponchos and sun cream. Prepare for all possibilities.
