A man, aged in his 20s, arrested in connection with an alleged assault of another man outside a public house in west Dublin late on Sunday night has been charged.
He is due to appear at Blanchardstown District Court at 10.30am and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
The victim suffered a blow to the head outside the Clonsilla Inn just before 11pm.
The man (40s) sustained life-threatening injuries in what gardaí believe was a so-called one-punch attack. Though he is receiving emergency treatment in hospital in the city, there are grave concerns for his recovery prospects.
