Ryanair to hire 150 staff as it prepares to expand flights from Dublin Airport

Ryanair is hiring 150 workers at Dublin Airport as prepares to fly to a record 120 destinations from the Irish gateway this summer.

The carrier recently announced its busiest ever summer schedule from Dublin and plans to base a 33rd aircraft there.

Ryanair said on Friday that it was beginning a drive to recruit more than 150 front-of-house and aircraft-handling staff at Dublin.

The jobs will involve aiding passengers through the airport and turning aircraft around for their next take-off among other duties, according to the airline.

The new staff will train at a centre in Santry, Co Dublin, where Ryanair has its headquarters.

Neal McMahon, Ryanair’s director of operations, confirmed that the airline was hiring the staff to support customers and aircraft handlers.

The airline will hold recruitment days at hotels and centres in Dublin, Meath and Kildare next week.

Industry sources say Irish airlines could hire 2,000 to 3,000 staff this summer as travel recovers from tough Government-imposed restrictions.

Irish aviation lost more than 5,000 jobs in 2020 and 2021 as widespread pandemic curbs grounded or severely limited airlines.
