Tech tools: iPocket Drive bulks up Apple storage

Portable drive works with new iOS devices

If you are an Apple user, there is one thing that you might miss from your iPhone or iPad – the ability to add extra memory. Because what you see is what you get when you buy an iOS device. If all you can stretch to is the 16GB version, you’ll be relying on cloud storage to expand your device’s capacity.

That’s not always ideal, and it makes transferring files a bit of a pain, but luckily there is a solution. The iPocket Drive allows you to store movies, music and other files on an external drive that connects to iOS devices through a lightning connector. On the other end is a USB connection, so you can also use it with a Mac or PC. And it works as a charger for your iOS device too.

The device, which is set to ship this month as part of an Indiegogo campaign, is available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB versions.
